The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Electricity will announce the tender documents for contracts for the construction of new and substations and extension of existing substations, and construction of new 132 and 33 kV DC transmission lines in all three governorates in the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.

The Electricity Ministry invites expressions of interest to participate in the tendering and submission of proposals for the below-mentioned projects. All expressions of interest to be received no later than Wednesday 15th October 2008.

Pre-qualification forms will be sent to the companies that express interest in tendering. The short-listing of the potential tenderers will be based on the information provided in the pre-qualification forms. One week after the closing date for receiving expressions of interest, short-listed companies will be notified that they have been short listed and will receive the tender documents.

The proposed projects will be divided into four packages for substations, and two packages for transmission lines. The projects are named Stage 5 for substations in two packages, and Stage 4 for transmission lines in two packages, as described below.

Erbil and Dohuk substations Stage 5

The tender for EPC engineering, detailed design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning including associated civil works training of personnel and a defects liability period of 12 months for construction of six (6) new 132/33/11 kV substations, and five (5) new 33/11 kV substations, in Erbil and Dohuk governorates in the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.

Suleimaniah substations Stage 5

The tender for EPC engineering, detailed design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning including associated civil works training of personnel and a defects liability period of 12 months for construction of four (4) new 132/33/11 kV substations, extension of one (1) 132/33 kV substation, extension of one (1) 33/11 kV substation and construction of six (6) new 33/11 kV substations, in Suleimaniah governorate in the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.

Erbil and Dohuk transmission lines Stage 4

The tender for EPC engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning including associated civil works training of personnel and a defects liability period of 12 months for construction of twenty-seven (27) km new 132 kV DC transmission line, seventy-two (72) km 33kV DC transmission lines, and fifty-six (56) km double circuit 33kV underground cable connection, in Erbil and Dohuk governorates in the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.

Suleimaniah transmission lines Stage 4

The tender for EPC engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning including associated civil works training of personnel and a defects liability period of 12 months for construction of forty-seven (47) km new 132 kV DC transmission line, one-hundred-twelve (112) km new 33kV DC transmission lines, and five (5) km double circuit 33kV underground cable connection, in Suleimaniah governorate in the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.
