The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) – Iraq Ministry of Electricity intends to carry out a wind energy detailed feasibility study in the three governorates of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.

The scope of the contract is to carry out a wind energy detailed feasibility study in the three governorates of the Kurdistan Region as follows:

A. Nominate adequate sites for wind energy study.

B. Collecting wind data and analyse it in the nominated sites.

C. Design a suitable wind farm for the nominated sites.

D. Provide a wind energy detailed feasibility study for the nominated sites.

To participate in the tendering process, bidders shall have the necessary experience in this field and shall have carried out at least three detailed wind energy feasibility studies.

Bidding documents
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from MOE address 1 below. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to to MOE address 2 below, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 500,000 Iraqi Dinars, or an equivalent amount in any convertible currency. The documents are available from 20 September 2008 at the Ministry of Electricity, MOE address 2 below.

The documents may also be sent to you by international courier upon receiving advance payment of 100 US dollars for the courier fee.

Payment for bidding documents
The method of payment will be by cash to the KRG Ministry of Electricity Accounts Department.

Submission of bids
Bids must be delivered to MOE address 2 below, no later than 12pm,
27 October 2008. (Extended by one week from the original deadline of 20 October).

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 100,000,000 (one hundred million) Iraqi Dinars or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency consigned in any official bank in the Kurdistan Region.

Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the Ministry of Electricity, MOE address 2, five minutes after the deadline for submission of bids.
