Jamil Sleiman Haider - Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources

Mr Jamil Sleiman Haider was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources in the sixth KRG cabinet in October 2009, following the July 2009 Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections.

Mr Haider's previous position was Director of Housing and Reconstruction for Dohuk governorate. Born in Dohuk in 1963, he gained a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mosul University in 1984. He worked as an engineer on the Bekhma dam, the Dohuk dam, and in the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). From 2003 tol 2007, he worked in water resources engineering in Dohuk.
